Match 29 Peshawar Zalmi Vs Islamabad United | PSL 8 | 2023 | PSL 8 | 2023 , The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Pakistan. The 8th edition of the PSL started from 13th February till 19th March of 2023.

Welcome to the 2nd Last match of the group stage of PSL 2023 . The top four are set, but the exact order of the knockouts is unknown, with Islamabad United hoping to secure second place with a win over Peshawar Zalmi (who are positioned at fourth). But, don’t think of this game as a formality. The PSL has witnessed 10 scores of 200 or more in the previous week; two successful chases of 240 or more, and a nine-run loss chasing 262; the greatest individual score in the competition’s history; and three of the four fastest PSL hundreds. So don’t expect this one to be any different.

Today Babar Azam is not playing , in-place of Babar Azam , TKC (Tom Kohler-Cadmore) is captaining the team instead of the their regular captain Babar Azam, while Islamabad is looking to get themselves register on 2nd position after the group stage while Peshawar Zalmi has qualified but win will boost their confidence for the play-off stage.

Target:

Today Peshawar Zalmi batted first and the target for Islamabad United is 180 runs.

Zalmi had been defeated twice in recent days after failing to defend considerably higher totals, and despite a 115-run stand between Mohammad Haris and Bhanuka Rajapaksa, they were unable to profit on this occasion. They were looking at 200-220 at that point, but Islamabad United held their composure with the ball and in the field, resulting in a 7 for 45 collapse. United need 180 from their 20 overs to finish second and qualify for the qualifier, but our Forecaster only gives them a 40% chance.

What’s My prediction (no Calculations Whatsoever Just my 6th Sense Lets see) ?

The last 6 Matches between these teams, Islamabad United won 4 matches over Peshawar Zalmi, while Peshawar Zalmi won 2 Matches in the last five Matches between these teams. The teams are evenly matched, therefore there will be a tough competition.

Peshawar Zalmi Team in their last two games scored over 240 runs but they still lost the games against Quetta Gladiators where Jason Roy scored a terrific Century the best innings of his career while on the other hand Peshawar also unable to defend the target against Multan sultans with a 2nd fastest century of the tournament by Rillie Rossow. It was a moral twister for Peshawar Zalmi , Zalmi will be looking forward to win their last match of the group stage and end up with good result and confidence boost.

My Prediction for the match is : Peshawar Zalmi to Win

The Result ?

In the last match between these two team Islamabad United won by 6 Wickets.

Peshawar Zalmi won the match by 13 runs.

In the end, it was a great encounter, but the United were denied a position in the top two. They would have been pretty confident at the midway point, having limited the opponent to under 200 on a relatively level deck, but they absolutely bungled the chase. Three wickets were taken in the powerplay, and as statistics show, the team that takes three wickets in the powerplay is more likely to win the game.

Gurbaz stitched up a good little relationship with the skipper, but they completely lost the plot once Shadab was removed. They appeared determined to lose wickets as they fell from 111/5 to 111/8. Faheem Ashraf threatened to do so. Faheem Ashraf threatened to win the game on his own again in the end, but his shenanigans were put to an end by a superb yorker on Khurram Shahzad in the last over.
